Malaysia Airports Showcases KLIA's TOP Restaurant at MIGF 2018: KULinary in November 2018!

5:46 pm Deelicious 0 Comments

Food! One fine word that makes us salivate and we go round the world to look for it, if we need to.

Fortunately, Malaysia have abundant of food, not just local but internationally. We even have food fair like MIGF that allow us to taste and #foodfest on delicious, mouth-watering food from around the world, all in one place.

I even travel to airports, just to eat or shop, just because I can. Like when Isaac Toast opened in KLIA2, I went too. Food, things we do for food is..... amazing!

Dishes prepared by Bumbu Desa during the media session @ MIGF 2018.
Malaysia Airports were at MIGF, promotes cuisines offered by 3 restaurants from KLIA as a teaser to what can be expected at the upcoming annual KULinary 2018 event in November (I heard it's gonna be HUGE!) and is participated in light of the celebration of food during this year’s Taste MIGF 2018 -- a 2-day gastronomy extravaganza -- by featuring its top airport cuisines under the banner of “Taste of Malaysia Airports”.

One of the participating brand, FUKUYA @ KLIA

The three featured restaurants – Bumbu Desa, Fukuya and Grandmama’s – are showcasing some of their most popular dishes that are a hit with travellers at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). These three restaurants were part of the Top 25 winners from last year’s annual KULinary event – a signature dining discovery campaign hosted by Malaysia Airports that celebrates gastronomic excellence and dining experiences at both terminals of the airport, KLIA main terminal and klia2.

Bumbu Desa happen to serve all my favourite food from their restaurant! Especially the Ayam Cabai Ijo and Ikan Bawal Taliwang Lombok!

All must-try from Bumbu Desa!

The annual KULinary event provides the most ideal platform for travellers to sample a variety of exciting F&B offerings that are available at the airport, which include eateries associated with well-established international brands as well as popular local eateries.

Malaysia Airports senior general manager for Commercial Services, Nazli Aziz, said: “We are excited to be part of MIGF 2018 as it serves as a platform for us to highlight our commitment to create enjoyable dining experiences for visitors at our airports. Ultimately, we want to ensure that our airports become preferred destinations for all food lovers out there. This objective is very much in line with our mission of enhancing the Total Airport Experience as we believe food plays an important role in connecting and educating the cultural richness of the community, especially with the variety of exciting F&B outlets that are available at our airports, and in this case, at KLIA.”

“We are also proud to be able to showcase several of our winners from last year’s KULinary event, as this serves as a precursor to what the public can expect to savour at this year’s KULinary 2018 event, which we anticipate will be bigger and better than last year,” added Nazli. Offering a mini Malaysia experience right in the airport, Grandmama’s serves traditional Malaysian flavours that bring back the fond memories of grandmothers cooking in the kitchen. Their Nasi Lemak is a must-try dish for visitors during this Taste MIGF event.

Additionally, visitors tasted the best of Indonesian cuisine from Bumbu Desa with its signature dishes of Nasi Tumpeng (a special dish made to celebrate important events), Ikan Bawal Taliwang Lombok (pomfret with special Taliwang Lombok sauce) and KopiKita (original Indonesian coffee).

Also present is Fukuya @KLIA, which is a must-visit restaurant for those who love authentic Japanese cuisine. Visitors should not miss the newly created Hotate Miso Soup (miso soup with scallops) which is specially created to celebrate this year’s Taste MIGF event. Other best sellers to look out for from Fukuya include Unagi Uramaki (deep fried spicy sea eel roll) and Shake Uramaki (deep fried spicy salmon roll).

Added chilli for additional kick!
The soup is the real deal!
Throughout the month-long MIGF 2018 celebration in September, these three restaurants will also provide a special menu for its signature dishes at their KLIA outlets.

Food lovers are encouraged to join the upcoming KULinary event at KLIA in November to discover the best hidden food gems that are available at both terminals of the airport. There will also be lots of fun activities and special meal deals for passengers to enjoy. As for me, you know for sure I will be there!

Aveeno® and Aveeno Baby® now available in Malaysia! Now you can soothe, restore and protect with the power of Oats!

4:48 pm Deelicious 1 Comments

Some of you might think that all body wash or body lotion is the same lah, but alas, it's NOT.

Some are better than others, depending on your needs and skin conditions, right?

I first came across Aveeno in Singapore and Australia - wonderful, beautiful body care range. I finished mine and had to ask my friends or family members who travel to those places to my hands on these wonderful lotions and wash. Hard to get.

But it is announced that, it's NOW AVAILABLE in Malaysia! Yay!

Aveeno & Aveeno Baby now available in leading pharmacies in Malaysia, you can find these awesome products at AEON Wellness, Caring, Guardian and Watsons

So, yes, finally, we are able to experience the nourishing touch of Aveeno®!

With Aveeno ®, the most trusted brand for its use of natural ingredients, and Aveeno Baby®, the #1 U.S. pediatrician trusted brand* for the use of natural ingredients, you and your loved ones can now discover natural beauty and well-being in your lives.

Since its humble beginnings in 1945, the story of Aveeno® has been one of discovery and passion. By unlocking the power of nature through scientific advances, the brand has discovered ways to nurture and transform skin to an enhanced state of natural health and beauty.

Founded by American inventor and philanthropist brothers Albert and Sidney Musher, Aveeno®’s brand name was inspired by Avena sativa, the Latin word for ‘oat’, which is the key ingredient in Aveeno® products.

So, I kay-poh lah, go and search what's so special lah with the oats and all...

And then there's oats. Lots of it.

Aveeno® believes that oats has the power to soothe, heal and even transform, allowing women (and men, of course) throughout the world to discover the full potential of her natural beauty and live a naturally-beautiful life.

According to Julia Teo, Head of Brand and Shopper Amplification of Johnson & Johnson Malaysia, the introduction of Aveeno® and Aveeno Baby® to the Malaysian market is the company’s attempt to answer to the demand of our consumers for naturally-derived skin and body care products. “The awareness and appeal of natural ingredients-based skin and body care products are much higher now compared to before. However, it’s not easy to find effective products for sensitive skin that are enjoyable to use.

With the availability of Aveeno® and Aveeno Baby®, we are confident that this void in the market will be filled, and Malaysians will be able to enjoy their daily skin and body care routine with our products, not just for themselves, but also for their little ones,” she shared.

ACTIVE NATURALS – sourced from nature, unlocked to deliver real benefits!

The most unique aspect of Aveeno® are its ACTIVE NATURALS ingredients, where only high-quality natural ingredients grown in an ideal environment are carefully-selected and uniquely-formulated with the power of science to give your skin real benefits.

Bridging the gap between health and beauty, Aveeno® prides itself on using simple, naturally-derived ingredients that deliver results. Good for skin and good for the senses, each Aveeno® experience is a delight, combining kind-to-skin formulas with light scents which are as gentle as fragrance-free products.

The skin’s role and Benefits of Oats for your skin

The skin is our body’s largest and fastest-growing organ which provides a natural protective barrier between ourselves and the environment to protect our body from infections, pathogen and harmful UV radiation. It’s also vital in maintaining homeostasis, helps to restrict fluid and prevents loss of moisture.

Hence, optimizing skin moisture level is the key to healthy and naturally glowing skin.  Associated with a long history of use in skincare, oats provide multiple benefits to all skin types, especially dry, irritated and itchy skin. It is also safe for babies’ delicate skin. Thanks to ACTIVE NATURALS, the Triple Oat Formula that is only available in Aveeno® products combined colloidal oat, avenanthramides and oat oil to create supercharged Triple Oat Complex that delivers up to 9X the antioxidant power**:

The main formula that work well, Active Naturals, where the Triple Oat Formula combined them all!

Clinically-proven to moisturize and relieve baby’s dry skin for 24 hours, the Soothing Relief range is soap-free, fragrance-free and hypoallergenic.

And what I find very interesting is the Dermexa range helps to soothe symptoms of baby dry, itchy and irritated skin while strengthening skin’s natural ability to protect against moisture loss, and is steroid-free, fragrance-free and allergy tested (I heard from my friends who is a mother, used this to soothe her baby because got eczema, kesian... and it worked within a short period of time! Roche Malaysia raises funds for children with hearing loss at its annual Roche Children’s Walk

3:49 pm Deelicious 2 Comments

In the Roche Children's Walk, there's 157 of company sites unite for Roche Children’s Walk to raise funds for more than 75 projects around the world.

Group photo of Roche Malaysia staff during the Children’s Walk
With more than 400 Roche Malaysia employees organised various activities to raise RM40,000 for hearing impaired children to attend the Komuniti TUTUR programme. From movie screening, bazaars and employee pledges, the joint initiative by Roche Malaysia employees from the pharmaceutical and shared service centre, culminated with a charity walk held in conjunction with Roche’s annual global event – the Roche Children’s Walk.

The Roche Children’s Walk is a traditional corporate social responsibility campaign of Roche global, involving more than 100 sites around the world. Every June, more than 90,000 Roche employees globally raise funds for philanthropic children’s projects within their countries.

All funds raised for local cause are then matched by Roche to contribute to a variety of non-governmental organisation (NGO) programmes in developing countries such as Malawi, Ethiopia and the Philippines. For this year, through Roche’s global employee foundation, three new education partnerships were initiated in Ethiopia, Nepal and Kenya.

“In Malaysia we partnered with Yayasan Budi Penyayang, an NGO that supports the Komuniti TUTUR Programme, an initiative by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The TUTUR programme enables children, who receive cochlear implants to overcome their hearing loss, to transition from clinic and integrate them into society through various activities such as sound recognition and communication,” said Martin Kikstein, General Manager of Roche Services (Asia Pacific) Sdn. Bhd., during the cheque presentation ceremony at Sunway GEO recently.

Komuniti TUTUR also has other components as part of its activities such as knowledge and attitude building for parents, developing cochlear implant patients’ attitude, skill and knowledge.

Lance Duan, General Manager of Roche (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.; Associate Professor, Dr. Rogayah A Razak, Programme Coordinator of Komuniti TUTUR Programme; Dato’ Leela Mohd Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia and Martin Kikstein, General Manager of Roche Services (Asia Pacific) Sdn. Bhd. during the cheque presentation ceremony.
“We are happy to support the children with hearing impairment to gain a better quality of life. At Roche, patients are the centre of our operations. We firmly believe in the potential to translate science into therapies, to address patient’s unmet needs and help them live longer and healthier lives. The combined strengths of our pharmaceuticals and diagnostics services – have made Roche the leader in personalised healthcare – a strategy that aims to fit the right treatment to each patient in the best way possible,” said Lance Duan, General Manager, Roche (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., who was also present at the event.

He also added that, “As part of our annual corporate social responsibility initiative, we partner with organisations that help improve the lives of disadvantaged children to provide them with a better quality of life.”

Meanwhile, Dato’ Leela Mohd Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia, in her speech at the event, mentioned the support from Roche is important to sustain the Penyayang-Komuniti TUTUR programme.

“It has been a journey of 17 years of working together with TUTUR to improve the lives of the hearing impaired children,” she said. Penyayang, she added, has signed a new Memorandum of Agreement with UKM to help continue the Penyayang-Komuniti TUTUR Programme.

A little bit more on the Roche Children's Walk, which is a day powered by employess, also is the company’s global signature employee project. Since the first company-wide walk in 2003, more than 220,000 Roche employees have participated, raising more than CHF 17 million.

All money collected by employees is matched by Roche and used to support local children’s causes in communities where Roche operates, as well as in developing countries such as Malawi, Ethiopia and the Philippines. Funds are applied to local NGOs or channelled through the Roche Employee Action and Charity Trust (Re&Act), a legally independent charity.

Samsung: Is this NOTE9? Samsung Note9 Launching on 9 August 2018!

12:49 pm Deelicious 0 Comments

You know, it's August now. Every time I look calendar, I see March and August as the Samsung month. It's almost a common practice and a tradition for Samsung Mobile to launch its devices in those months.

And Samsung just dropped their teaser and boy oh boy... it's more than just a hint.

Just look at the twit announcing it. If it's not Note 9, I am not sure what that is....

Are you ready for the unpacked event? Click here to pre-register.

Additionally, I have received all the teasers to introduce some key highlights that we are expected to see in Note 9 (although no one indicated it's Note 9, it's my presumption that it is, let's hope I am right).

Battery.

Ever growing need for power, bigger capacity means, you do more, play more, work better in bigger way! Way better but... from the comments I see, I am not sure if this time, the power will go up to 4k onwards? Not sure.

If you tell me no need to take powerbank out and about - I am already in love.

Is storage always a problem? For me, yes. Files and images - and the tons of music I have + Spotify + all and all, I am just greedy (and lazy), I want all my files in my phone. Period.

What about performance? WHO DOESN'T NEED THIS? Seriously? No one will want to face problems like those highlighted in the teaser video. LOL...

However, my biggest suspicion and I almost can confirm based on the hints from the teaser twit - is the S PEN.

This Note8 S-Pen have great function - which is one of the SOLE reason why I love Note series. Almost the entire teaser video on twit is on the Samsung Galaxy S-Pen itself.
I wonder what and how else they will improve on this. Now, now, I am truly excited!

Personally, I am a Samsung Note user - I have almost every generation - notably, Note 7 (my fave), now using Note 8 - I don't mind a Note 9 if the 3 promises as per the teaser is delivered, especially on the S-Pen too.

Malaysia is definitely one of the key market in term of smartphones for Samsung - which traditionally you see pre-order right after the global launch. My Note8 retails at RM3,999 and I got it with Digi for a good deal!

Digi doing promotion for Note8 with postpaid. Can't help to wonder, what promo will Digi and others be running for Note9?

When will we know the price and promo for Note9?

9 August 2018.

If you want to pre-register (like I just did), you can do it here.

Can't wait till 9 Aug 2018!
